Texas A&M on Saturday defeated Tennessee, 9-5, in game 1 of the College World Series finals. The Aggies’ started hot, getting a leadoff home run from Gavin Grahovac, and never looked back. They opened a six-run lead in the third inning and got a solid start from All-American Ryan Prager, who was pitching on short rest. He threw four good innings before handing the ball over to the bullpen, which held off the Volunteers’ comeback bid.
This marks the first-ever national baseball title for the Volunteers, who previously hadn’t been to the finals since 1951. Tennessee was the No. 1 overall seed heading into the tournament. This was the first time a top overall seed won it all since 1999, when Miami (Fla.) pulled it off.
In the 10th inning, Kentucky got big-time contributions from two more experienced players in righthander Johnny Hummel and third baseman Mitchell Daly. Hummel came through with a key shut down inning in the top half, while with two outs in the bottom half Daly crushed a walk-off home run out to left field.

When is little league world series championship
Admission to all LLWS games is free for all spectators. However, stadium seats for the championship game are distributed in a random drawing of all interested parties due to high demand. Some early round games, mostly games with Pennsylvania teams, will use first-come, first-served admission if a big crowd is to be expected. Lamade Stadium has a berm beyond the fences that has allowed the facility to hold up to 45,000 spectators.
Two venues host World Series games: Howard J. Lamade Stadium and Little League Volunteer Stadium. Lamade Stadium has hosted games since 1959 and added lights in 1992. Volunteer Stadium opened in 2001 when the field expanded to 16 teams. Prior to 1959, the Little League World Series was held at Original Little League on West Fourth Street in Williamsport.
In the United States, the fate of district winners varies widely from state to state. In some larger states such as Pennsylvania, New York, and California, the district winners advance to one of many sectional tournaments. The winners of each sectional tournament then advance to a state or divisional tournament, the latter only being held in Texas and California and are similar to the state tournaments held in less populous states. Lamade Stadium, respectively, prior to the international games scheduled for 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. at Volunteer Stadium. This change from previous years will allow for fans to enjoy these games, and for Little League® International to welcome the players and clubs for the MLB Little League Classic and showcase one of the best days in sports on ABC and ESPN Platforms.
